My friend Darren Mabrey sent me a text today telling me to look up Grand Façade by The Allies because it has become the theme song for his men’s group there in the Dallas area.
I KNOW WHY.
Click the YouTube video above to hear Bob Carlisle’s version of the song and pay close attention to these powerful lyrics.
“Grand Facade”
Where do we go from here
When we’ve said “hello”, “I’m fine and you?”
Shouldn’t we make it clear
It’s alright to shed a tear or twoIf I showed my weakness would you laugh at me
If I ran away would you come after meWe hide our hearts, we play charades
Here behind the grand facade
No fear eludes, no pain can escape
From the loving eyes of GodIf you could read my mind
Would you comfort me with an old cliche
This is my best disguise
It serves me well, it keeps me sage
But I feel the loneliness my comfort brings
When one word of love could give my spirit wingsWe hide our hearts, we play charades
Here behind the grand facade
No fear eludes, no pain can escape
From the loving eyes of GodFrom out of the dark, come into the light
We hide our hearts, we play charades
Here behind the grand facade
No fear eludes, no pain can escape
From the loving eyes of GodFrom out of the dark, come into the light
Can you identify with ‘the loneliness that comfort brings’ in your life?
Thanks Jerry! Just to clarify…Darren is my friend who referred me to the song, but the vocalist is Bob Carlisle who used to be lead singer of a group called The Allies.
Hope everything is going well in your world. Thanks for your comment, Jerry!
Hi, we are Traylor and Melody Lovvorn and we were married for 11 years before sexual addiction and infidelity ripped our family apart. By God’s grace, our family was reconciled in 2008. Hang out here for awhile and you’ll discover how this miracle happened. Learn more about us…

Tray,
That was a set of the most powerful LYRICS I have ever heard. I will be passing along this blog containing Darren's song. Darren has a great voice, I had to listen 3 times to understand the lyrics. Heavy drums and loud guitars are not my preference [ I am old school ya think?
:):)].
God bless…
